Our Story

We were blessed to get the property in Rice in 2021. As a veteran family with a strong civic duty we wanted to do more than just build a home here, we wanted something more. Being from Rice and our sons graduating from Rice HS, we decided to build something the community could enjoy. That idea is what started the Adventure Patch.

It’s Been Lots of Work
Our starting point.
We felt pretty overwhelmed the first time at the property. it had been vacant for many years and was pretty overgrown. It took a lot of sweat and some tears to make it better.
There was a lot to clear
It seemed like there was always something new to find.
Getting rid of the underbrush
We had a bunch of underbrush along with mesquite treees, grapevine and loads of tall grass.
It was a family team work
There was plenty to do and Angela (Mimi) and her sister Ada never stopped.
Having the shed finished was a great feeling
Everything you see at the adventure patch was built by our family. From the shed to the fences to even the picture stands were built by hand. They many not be perfect but they were made with love.
A true pumpkin patch
Along with plenty of places for pictures and family fun, we wanted to have a real pumpkin patch. We can’t wait for you to come see our adventure patch.
